INCREASING AWARENESS OF THE PEOPLE OF SISALEAN VILLAGE ABOUT THE WASTE OF USING CONSUMABLE MASKS ON THE ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
In connection with the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, the existence of community service activities is a form of education in the tridharma of higher education in increasing its capacity by being directly involved in participating in efforts to help the community in the area where the service is located for prevention, breaking the chain of spread of Covid-19, in Increasing Awareness of the Sisalean Village Community About the waste of using Consumable Masks Against The environment in this activity educates the people of Sisalean Village about the use of masks that are thrown in any place that have a negative impact on health and the environment, based on the results of observations that we made to Sisalean Village, many people do not know about the use of masks that have been used and then used repeatedly and after repeated use the masks are thrown away in any place even though the government recommends masks that have been used disposal by: (1) Collecting disposable masks; (2) Disinfect the used mask. Disinfection of the mask can be done by immersing the mask in a disinfectant, chlorine or bleach solution; (3) Change the shape of the mask. After disinfection, the mask must be cut or damaged so that it is not reused; (4) Dispose of it in the domestic trash after tightly wrapped in plastic. In accordance with the circular of the Minister of Environment and Forestry, if the Government has provided a special trash can/drop box for masks in public spaces, the public can dispose of the disposable masks in the special mask bins that have been provided; (5) Wash hands with soap and running water.Keywords:
